We had warmth then freezing cold. I wanted to give all of the flowers a comforting hug.

Same here! Rather ironic after the mild winter we had.
My herb garden would like to get out of the shower and relocate back to the porch, please. I had to put the pots in the shower stall to protect them from the cold and the cats, since there’s catnip in them.
When I lived in Denver the roomies and I had pots of catnip in our yard. We quickly became the crack den for all the local kitties.
